Moses Lake has been nothing short of phenomenal this year for multiple species like walleye and smalmouth bass for myself and my closest fishing buddies. You can imagine my surprise when my good friend Joe Cortez of Sunnyside and i hit the South end of Moses for walleye and smallies and I hooked my biggest largemouth bass in at least 10 years on a 4'6" ultralight rod and four pound test line. The beast hit my jig on the drop and leapt 3 feet in the air on the hook set. After a very intense fight, I lipped the big girl and she tipped my electronic scale at 8lbs 13 ounces. Prespawn, I released to her to fight another day. The smallies and walleyes were on the bite as Joe hooked his first walleye ever with me a solid 25 incer that pushed 5 pounds on a Storm Wiggle wart crankbait. The smallies were spitting up huge crawfish as we fought them to the boat. All in all, Moses has been an anglers paradise and I'm looking forward to fishing it for crappie this fall.
