This is my second trip out to Trout Lake this season. First time out, couple weeks ago, was below average. Hooked a nice rainbow and few other bites.
I have a list of lakes I'm going to try back to back times, so Trout Lake was #1 on the list. Fivemile is next up.
Anyhow, I landed 5 fish today. I was on the hunt for lunker Crappie I have landed in the past. But, no luck. I only landed 1 and it was about 9"-10". I've caught 12"-13" on average here before.
Then I hit a nice surprise, landed a largemouth bass on my ultra light rod, rigged with a float and crappie jig. Caught under a dock. Really fun to fight a larger fish on light gear. Really had to finesse the fish. Fish was barely hooked in the upper lip. Good thing I had my handy net.
Also, hit a nice little 12-13" bass off a white spinner bait.
Then I landed a rainbow trout of crappie rig again.
Finished day with a dink largemouth.
But, I really had to work the whole lake for the fish I caught.
Good to be out on the water fishing though!
