I started at around noon, I wanted to see if it was the time of year that the fish of Pass Lake (especially the browns) were starting to key in on the minnows that inhabit the lake. The water temperature was around 60 degrees and I was using a intermediate line with various baitfish imitations. I pounded the shoreline until 7PM with only 4 or 5 other fishermen. I managed to bring in 11 fish, the biggest was a 23 inch brown. I lost at least that many due to the many snags around the edge of the lake and just to plain bad luck. Most were rainbows with a couple browns and cutts mixed in. The size ranged from 10 to 23 inches, but the bulk were 15 to 18 inches. If you go to Pass Lake, my advice, stay close to the shoreline, don't be afraid to loose flies. Try to keep your flies as close to the cover up on the edge then retrieve them into deeper water trying to avoid all the sticks. You'll be surprised how shallow the trout come to crash the minnows. Good luck!
