This report will be for the evening of 5/6, morning & evening of 5/7 & morning of 5/8!

5/6: Decided to stop by Echo on the way home from fishing Scriber Lake, since my friend never fished here before. As we walked up we noticed 5 boats/tubes out trolling. And 2 guys just on the bank from out there. They had said they stocked the lake just a few hours ago that evening. We used kasmasters. We were the only guys on the bank. We only fished about an hour since it was getting dark out. We had several hits and a few fish landed. Just normal stockers, 6-8 inchers.

Morning 5/7: Woke up about 8AM or so, planning on fishing green lake. Then thought about how Echo Lake was going to be in the AM. Got to the lake at 9. Nobody fishing on the bank & only 1 guy on a boat trolling. Used the kastmaster again. First cast with backpack on, headphones in, Helmet on & Bike leaning against me. TAP TAP Hit. TAP TAP Hit. WOW first cast going to be a good day. No fish on the first cast with all the weight on me. Settled in and Next cast. Tap Fish. Brought it to the bank and about 8". This would go on for about 2 hours straight. Then on the 10th cast. SNAP!! Crap, there goes my best KM. Tied on a gold and did OK with it but not as great to the one I lost. At this point one guy showed up to fish the bank. But by the time he wet his line, I had about 15 fish reeled in. (All released) Then as the sun got higher and lack of shadows on the bank, the fish went into a 'Lockjaw' phase. Tons of surfacing fish but LOTS of FEWER hits. Then Went to Green Lake.

Evening 5/7: While at green lake I thought about coming back, and though hum sure for an hour. Got there about 7PM. But the bite was almost non-existent! Except for the first 3 cast. 2 hook ups then 1 fish to the shore. Then I noticed a small duckling all alone. I figured something was wrong. Check it out, it has ate a hook with a line tangled in the reeds. Walk over freed it then back to fishing. 1 more hit and that was it.

Morning 5/8: I heard it was suppose to rain a lot earlier on Thursday now, so I decided to hit Echo Lake one more time for the year. Met up with a fellow WALaker: N E ! FISSION. He had said a few hits, but nothing like yesterday AM. Also ran into him at Green Lake yesterday PM. Hooking fish but they kept slipping off. Same thing this AM at Echo Several Hooks ups then they throw the hook out. I saw him landed 2-4 fish (Most self released). Then I stayed for about another hour after he left. last cast, I finally landed a small 6''. Then the wind picked up and I headed home.

Good to see you Pat, Wed/Thur, fun using lures to catch those trout. Echo Lake pretty small, 6"-8", hope most people C & R to give them a chance to get bigger,...
