Old fishing buddies Jim Wood and Billy Stump came out for a morning of Mack fishing. A bonus was rainbows before and after the trip from the Mill Bay docks. We braved the cool, breezy and debris laden Colyar ledge for a nice pile of fish early, then moved to the sunny and warm confines of Manson Bay to get our Mackinaw later in the morning. Depths of 218 to 280 feet were productive along Colyar Ledge. In Manson Bay we pounded piles of fish from 180 to 255 feet deep. Silver Horde Squid rigs with a big Mack's Lures Smile Blade baited with a piece of Northern Pikeminnow pulled at 1.2 to 1.5 mph caught fish in both locations. As always, pounding the bottom will get you bit. A slip sinker rig with Pautzke's Firebait will do the trick around the Mill Bay boat launch.
