Fished a few chain lakes yesterday for pike with Nate, Hunter and Buddy. We had 2 boats out. Nate managed 3 small pike and one that got loose at the boat, along with a decent large mouth bass. Although not a stellar day for him, he had the hottest hand for the day. It was good to see him get a few in the boat before he heads oversees. Thanks to both of them for comming over and fishing with me, and to Nate for showing us how it's done.
I did manage to get one nice crappie. It took a husky jerk intended for pike and weighed in at 2 lbs. I released her to fill the lake with babies. At only 14" she was pretty fat with eggs.

Hey AJ's Dad and Buddy!

It was a Great Time on the Chain lakes, and the views never get old! I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciated the time out on the water this weekend especially when it comes to fishing for Esox Lucious! Look forward to returning to CDA in the future to fish with everyone again! Thanks to You and the Family for the hospitality for Little Man, I and Buddy. Can't wait to see how the summer goes for you guys, good luck and tight lines! I will be following the success in 2014 and on!
Remember Rapala #6 Subwalk black and Silver (Jerk, Twitch, Stop) :) guess the secret is out now! Of course I know that is not the only one that does the trick!

Nice job fellas. Be safe on your deployment Nate and best wishes. Nice slab too, I'm a firefighter, not a lawyer but I'm fairly certain that you can claim that as a dependent on your taxes. Nice work!

What's the water temp on the Chain Lakes now?

Thanks Kevin! Will do, definitely will keep my head on a swivel!

Rj49ers the water temps were between 52 and 57 depending on the area and depth. Middle of Chains were around 52 to about 54 as you moved up into the 5 to 7 ft range it would get between 55 and 57! Perfect water temps just had to present the fish with what they wanted and it was almost always on a slow presentation with a few twitches and jerks here and there! Good Luck and hope you get into some fish!
