What a great start to a new lake fishing season. The fish were hitting like crazy on the green wooley buggers with a silver scale smile blade. Had a limit in about an hour and a half. This year I'm experimenting with improving the blue collar fly fishing technique trying to fine tune it to be more productive. It's the little things, blade color, bead size between the fly and the blade, stacking the blades looking somewhat like a modified wedding ring with a fly trailer. The hot spot today seemed to be the mouth of the second creek coming from the boyscout end of the lake. I seemed to have better luck down deep even though there was lots of surface activity. I also saw a fair amount of anglers using a small gang troll tipped with night crawlers. Also very productive, an surprise of surprise, cut throat have made a reappearance.
