Fished Lake McMurray two mornings in a row
without success. Typically trolling in this lake with thin bladed spoons and flatfish produce quite a few strikes-not these two trips! Not even a bite. Saw lots of fish breaking the surface, some jumped out of the water 2 or 3 feet into the air-spectacular,
but flies of all sorts, rooster tails, traditional lake trolls etc. DID NOT WORK. I have been fishing this lake for 25 years
and have never seen this happen. Even the "Old Timers" came in skunked ("skinked" as my 4 year old daughter calls it when no fish are taken) from still fishing. The trout I did see jumping and such were 14 plus inches. Maybe next time?
