Got out on the lake just before 6 am, opening day! bite was ON as soon as the lines hit the water. The only fish biting that early were the big trout. Caught 3 triploids and 3 carryovers and broke a few lines (dont ask) before 7 am with no small planters landed yet... bite died from 7 to about 7:45 and picked back up quickly but all little ones! ended up catching our limit leaving with Two 15" carryovers and 13 plants between 3 of us. Off the lake at 9, which is a full hour later than the previous year. I blame my Dad's rod and its brittle line. He must have lost $12 in lures. haha (the photo is after i cleaned em, notice the red meat carryover. it was delish.)
