Started fishing at about 7:40 a.m. with a streamer fly (unknown name) with three hits and only one to the boat in the first hour, switched to a "six-pack" with a little better success. Finally turned to my old standby, the spruce fly-still limited success and the wind was driving me crazy. In desperation I added a small split shot and that turned the trick. From about 10:00 until 12:30 when the wind drove me off the lake, I landed about 20 fish to 15 inches. My third "rule" of fishing, "if what you are doing isn't working, change what you are doing!". The fish appear to be just under the surface feeding on what looked like a form of plankton. If the wind holds off, the lake should still be good for a few more weeks.
