I only run a 4lb ball on it so as not to pull me over. So far it seems to work well, but hasn't landed me any fish. We shall see....

If the kyak is open, the legs are thrown over one side of the kyak, so as to turn your body 90 degrees, and know your parallel to the downrigger? If a closed kyak, flexability is key? I imagine you can feel the extra drag of the downrigger cable, and lead weight? Assuming the vessel is manual power, not electric power. Nice fish!
