I think it would be fair to say that "the cat's out of the bag" I've never seen so many boats on Hayden Lake in one area. The majority seemed to favor trolling off of Clark Point, I would assume they did pretty well and were marking a ton of fish but I didn't get a chance to ask. I putted over to my usual spot off of Windy point and met up with a fellow Hewescraft . The fish were slightly deeper than they were last week, instead of long lining on the surface I ran the downriggers to 45ft and stayed in closer to the bank in roughly 70-90ft of water. Picked up a limit of 15 in 3 1/2 hours, and lost more than I'd like to admit.. 000 Dodger, and small VK flashers both worked very well teamed up with wedding rings with pink maggots. I also took a tour over to the Crappie spot thinking I would get a jump on the season, water temp was up to 46 degrees in the bay and 42 in the main lake but I think it's just a bit too early, kinda like the Morels around here. Just have to keep trying every weekend I suppose.
