I was the 3rd boat to leave the PUD launch(05:30). I fished primarily in the lower basin. I didn't venture up lake of Mill bay.I fished from 30Ft. to 90Ft.deep for Kokanee. And 110'-250' for Lakers.I struck out on both. For Kokes I tried various mini squid, bead and blade combinations behind various dodger and sling blades. Pink or orange were the standard amougnst those who had caught in days prior. I tried Ace-Hi fly & U-20 for lakers. I estimated 75 boats in the lower basin. I did not see a fish boated by anybody!!! I have poor electronics and no GPS. That being said, I matched speed with the guides and fished the same waters. I did talk to one guy at the launch that caught a fish! His wife picked one up @ 50' and he quickly brought his up from 70' and got one also! Then they had ventured up to the Yaught club only to return to the South shore & Rocky point areas. T'was a great day weather wise! My boat behaved well for the maiden voyage for the season. My new downriggers worked excellent. I don't really think I was doing anything wrong. I pulled my gear every now and then to see if it had any hooks on it!!! NO LOVE!
