I hit Kitsap Lake for probably the last time until the Lowland Lakes close in the fall. We had a pretty good day on the lake. I finally got my lady friend to troll for more than 20 minutes and she caught fish and was hooked! We were dragging flies behind pop-gear. She got me 3-2 today in about 3.5 hours and I was very happy for her. She probably lost five more. The next step is teaching how to set the hook a little better. As a new angler it's kind of interesting to already be "teaching" someone "how to". Kitsap Lake has been very good to me through the Fall/Winter season, but I am very excited to start hitting a wide variety of West Sound lakes this Spring/Summer!

Ball: It's good to see the lake is finally rewarding you, and with a lady friend along as well! Always great to get good company hooked on fishing. Next weekend will be a zoo, but if you're with someone who will appreciate that sort of chaos, it could be a good time to go. I will probably take one of the neighbor boys, if the weather isn't too bad. Lake Leland, where I fish regularly is open all year as well, so it may not be as packed on opening day. You might want to try there. I went last Sunday and got 5 stockers, while my son-in-law got 6 or 7 fish, a couple being in the 13" range and one being maybe 15". It was windy and we didn't have much time, but there was some sun and the fish were biting. Good luck.
