So after getting all chores done Saturday I drove down to lake WA at about 5pm to see a pretty stiff north wind blowing so didn't even bother launching the boat and figured I would wait and see what Sunday morning looked like.

Woke up at 6am and only had a few hours to fish before I had to head downtown to the Convention Center for the Pacific Northwest food show, so had my coffee and headed to the Atlantic City boat launch with Tin Cup in tow. Put in by 7am and motored straight across to the beige house and started my troll north in about 115 feet of water and 19 feet on the down rigger. Started off with the death roll hook threaded with a gulp earthworm and spin and glo in front.

Had a little guy hit it and got him in and fortunately was not hooked bad so quickly released. This time moved to a cool looking needlefish picked up at Cabela's on my way home from the Columbia river Friday and proceeded to get another little 12" er. Again released unharmed and now moved to the brad's cut plug dipped in herring dipping sauce and turned around and started my troll back south as had to be done by around 10:30.

Just as I passed the big brown house my rod pulls down hard and pops off the clip and immediately my rod bends with what looked like could be a big fish. As soon as I caught up with it it took off some line and could feel it had some weight so slowly played it in. Just as I got it close to the boat it realized it was hooked and went absolutely ballistic doing somersaults and leaps into the air but fortunately was able to get it into the rubber net! What a beauty and when it hit the deck, acted like an albacore after you land them and flipped and flopped all over the bottom of the boat. Had to give it some love with the Wally Whacker and into the ice chest it went.

Called it a day as now it was about 10am so headed in to get home and showered and off to sell some food products at the show! May make it out later tonight for the evening bite somewhere but we'll see you on the water!

I always get a kick out of your reports, in that you are all about the Brad's cut plug.
I think that is your peacemaker, lol.

Ha! it's funny because I do try to use something new each time I go out and do catch fish; but it seems like when the chips are down, it is my go-to lure. I even tried a different color one today that was like a bronze shiner with half and half glo green and silver on the bottom but didn't get a hit on that.

I fished the lake last Wednesday....day started out very windy, from the NE, just screaming through the East channel. But a strange thing happened, the longer my wife and I fished, the calmer it became. Had 4 takedowns, and only one stuck. A really nice cut, but a couple of inches shorted than your beast. I could only get any action on herring about 25 ft deep off the DR.
What a wonderful fish you caught.
