Made it to the potholes and launched at the east end of the dam. I was a little hesitant due to the forecast of 16+ MPH wind with gusts of 30. This being my first time on the potholes in my own boat I wasn’t sure. So I went any way. Figured I could make a snatch and grab and be out and gone before it got blowing to hard. I am glad I did. I started up the lind coulee arm, and that is where I finished at 11am. I first tried pulling plugs. I am yet to catch a walleye on a plug. I am dying to figure this out so any pointers of when and how would be appreciated. So I made a pass heading east on the north shore line from the east side of the large sandy point that came way out into the channel. All the way up to what I would call a large sand bowl if you will. Not a bump so I went to what I know and I had a fish on in min. after switching to worm harness. I was in 35 FOW. I made the same troll down the north shore and picked up another fish. Each time I would make this long troll either way staying in 25-45 FOW I would pick up a fish. I would keep my speed up around 1.0 mhp, Water temp was 52 degrees which shocked me big time. Sure enough at 1030 or so it got a little breezy, and by 1100 it was blowing and I went in with five fish. When I got them cleaned it appeared that they have already spawned and are on the post spawn bite. Good times with my Ol’ pal Gus. Can’t wait for my next trip.

Have fun and be safe,
Mcfish

Yeah he Continues to be the only one ready to go any time at a moment’s notice and never argues. Everyone else, it was like pulling teeth, they all talked of some garbage and used of a four letter word. Something like work or something..... I don't know, but what I do know is I didn't like the sound of it. Fishing sounds like a whole lot more fun. It was a good quick trip, really enjoyed the time. Love being the first one on the water. something about watching nature wake up and get started for the day. Too I was impressed with the radio stations I could pick up. Found some good Christian radio that was a mix between talk and music. Super good time!
I have new and confirmed orders that I am on call and in a holding pattern until further notice straight from the Operations section chief
(AKA WIFE). I might try and sneak down to the river and try and find some Wally’s and do a little recon, since I have a hand full of days off after Tuesday, and need to stay close. That would be awesome to transport my wife to labor and delivery with a boat hooked up…..LOL,
Keep in touch.

You laugh, but I had to unhitch my boat in the middle of the night to take my wife to the hospital! I was all hooked up and ready to go on a Friday night, when WHAM, time to go into labor! It was the best catch ever.....
