Went to Lake Tapps about 11am. It was my first time out this year. Caught 14 Smallmouth all Catch and Release. Most effective bait was the Strike King DB Rage Craw around rocks in about 8 ft of water. Water temp was 56 to 58 degrees. I did not see any beds as yet but the fish are getting ready. Probably in next week to ten days fishing will be hot. I caught one female SMB that weighed 3 lbs 9 oz. I was surprised when I weighed her. I guess the good weight was because she was full of eggs and about ready to pawn. It was a good day out on the lake for the first day of the season for me.
