Well after this last weekend of loosing our first kokanee at the boat, it was in the net fell off the hook and jumped out of the net all in two seconds...man it was fast. I figured I would head out and try to repeat the bite.

I trolled all over the north end of the island with not one bite. I was using a pink splatter back dodger on one line and a 50-50 chrome and brass on the other line both had wana fish lures on them tipped with corn and a magget. I was on the wire at 18 ft deepth and second line at 30 not one bite. I arrived at 1pm and left the launch at 5:45pm. Spoke with one gentilman at the launch around 3 pm as I needed a restroom brake and he caught his limit on the wana fish a lure new set up the gold one. I told him I ordered mine yesterday and should have it in a few days. He was fishing the same area I was some guys have alll the luck but that is fishing. I will be back out there soon.

Tight lines!!

I was out for an hour or so on Wednesday with nothing. Tried using my electric motor and it died after 80 minutes. Went out again today with my gas kicker and couldn't keep it running. Ran perfect on Tuesday. Gas is 6 months old so I swapped with gas I just purchased and ran great in my driveway for 20 minutes at the lowest idle. Funny how a couple of days would cause a problem with it running..... Back again in a couple of days.....

Hunter757 - Those kokanee can go crazy. I've had them jump in the boat when they came unbuttoned while still fishing; and yes that's over the side of my 18' Starcraft!

dawgwe1 - I treat ALL fuel with Bombardier (Evinrude) 2 Plus 4 fuel treatment. I use it in the fuel for my yard equipment too. Stopped having issues once I did that. Fuel with ethanol turns to junk in a hurry!

dawgwe1, I use fuel treatment as well but also run fuel without ethnol in it. There is a gas station here in Puyallup that sells it. I had to paddel my way back to shore the other day for some reason I was not getting fuel. I installed a new 3 gallon tank this year and put one of those new valve's to prevent down flow, well after that row back to shore I now have my old 6 gallon tank back in the boat went out no issues. I just wanted a smaller tank but with all the new EPA bs on the tank it has to reach 5lbs pressure before it will release and well I had no issues till I installed the inline valve, if I did not pull the line from the motor when done fishing and the boat on the trailer it would push fuel out the carb overflow. oh well...back to fishing.

downriggeral: It takes alot for me to give up and I will keep trying and know it will happen with enough time. I got my new set up from
Toni yesterday so hope I can find some time in the next few days to hit the lake. Kokanne are crazy and they are starting todrive me crazy....lol..... tight lines, Eric

Eric, And I thought all we had to deal with was fishin' regs? Are not the old tanks covered under some grandfather rule otherwise we would all be in trouble! I've never figured out how to keep the kokes from driving me CRAZY...that's what makes it fun!! Alan

I just wanted a smaller tank, I might find a way to bypass that 5lb pressure in the new tank but for now back to the old one and keep fishing. I filled the 6 gallon tank up and well smelled gas the last trip out next time I willl leave a little more room at the top for splashing........oh the fun I am so glad I don't smoke anymore lol...
