I arrived at silver lake at 11:00, saw all the regulars there, only 2 fish landed for those guys, about 12 anglers. They all said it was dead slow. I saw all of them were using powerbait/eggs, so I went with Corky/worm 2' off the bottom. I hooked up twice in the first 10 minutes, landed/released a small stocker, and got a triploid to the dock, but it fell off the hook as I was landing it. I was getting light hits every 10 minutes. I ended up catching and releasing another, and catching/retaining 2 others. I left at 2:00pm 1 shy often , due to having a job interview to attend. As other anglers saw my action throughout the day, they asked for advise on rigging, and what color Corky etc, I gladly helped, and 4 other anglers starting nailing fish using my advise aswell.,that was pretty gratifying. Beautiful weather, and the other anglers were on good behavior so not a bad outing, for a quicky.

I made a typo, 1 shy of limit, not 1 shy often.

Always good to hear of someone helping out his fellow fisherman. I will have to try the corky worm combo. Just enough corky to float the worm I gather? Use night crawlers or the smaller garden variety worm? Thanks for the report jonb.

Garden worm or half crawler, as to keep the Corky size as small as possible while still floating it.
