Having driven past Scooteney and seen the increased water flow into the lake, I thought I'd swing by and see if my favorite carp shooting spot was in action yet. The answer was 'not yet'. It's getting close, but there was a ton of silt and debris (tumbleweeds, trash) being flushed out of the system, and the water had a visibility of about 1". The water was probably marginally deep enough.

Guess I'll have to wait another week or two. Judging by my records, usually enough irrigation project water is coming in through the wasteways to get the carp to move into the shallows by about the first week of April (and the water clear enough to allow shooting).

I wish there was someplace online where I could look up the volumetric flows being allowed through the wasteway system, so I didn't have to drive up there.

Newest info I found, no real dates, but water flow rates. 2800 cfps is pretty respectable.
