Kokanee bite was in full swing last weekend and and most of February. The snowy picture was the week before this report with my brothers wife. We did exceptionally well, getting one limit of 15 in 3.5 hours each trip. Fish were all over from the surface down to 90 ft. Wedding ring and attractor with maggots did well. This week it has slowed considerably, warmer weather and water temp slowly climbing could have some effect I just don't know. I did notice there is not as many midges on the surface but more larger mosquito like flies instead, less fish jumping as well. Crappie will start biting towards the end of this month and I can only hope the Rainbows will pick up as well. I haven't landed many in the past few years..

Thanks for the report; nice catch!
Well I did it , I sprang for an Idaho fish license with the two pole endorsement. You've been driving me CRAZY with those kokanee reports over the last year! Time to give it a try - Alan

The cost of an ID license and two pole endorsement keeps us this side of the border, but with reports like this, hmmm. Thanks for sharing!

With the Chinook Salmon derby coming up on CDA Lake next month, 2000 true strain Gerrard Rainbows from Canada released last year in Pend Orielle and a trophy Mackinaw fishery on Priest Lake I think you'll get your monies worth Alan =) Not to mention the great fishery Hayden has turned in to. Idaho licenses go from the beginning till the end of year, a bit different than Washington, and you could always come over for free fishing day (Sat June 14th). My boat is open invite for those lazy days you don't feel like towing the boat Alan, just PM me. Good luck!
