Sometimes I wonder why I keep coming back to this lake? 8-15 years ago it was something to behold for bass anglers....before DFW decided to "treat" the lily pads for absolutely no reason whatsoever! Now, it's just ganky green globs of goo everywhere, the water never seems to clear up and the fishing has taken an absolute nose dive! Sure it's still early and yes there are still bass in here , even some toads, but let me tell you, it is NOTHING like it was....

Today I figured I would end my weekend where I started it and hit up Clear to see how the warming weather affected the water temps? A solid 3* added to the baseline to bring it to a solid 46*, sure it warmed up as the day went on with temps in spots reaching 48-50* but the bass were still very spooky and quick to head deeper if even slightly spooked. They will commit soon enough, I think the next couple days of continued warmth and Sunday's full moon will kick things solidly into gear?! I ended the day with one long line release, a big fat trout on a jerkbait and a very disturbing run in with a scene I still can't explain....see disturbing pics....

9 total in the pics including the one that washed away to the shoreline, I have no idea what to even think about it, pretty disgusting if you ask me! All still had their fur, teeth and tails so I doubt it was a trapper so what was the freaking point? Sad.

You should report this to a game warden so they can try and look into the cause of death and a possible poacher.

Well thats what happens when you hit enter several times when the screen hangs.

Beaver are not off limits. They must be trapped and dispatched humanely. They cannot be hunted but they can be trapped during the regular season.

NOT Nutria.....positively beavers! UPDATE #1: I contacted WDFW on Thursday and gave them my info, today I was contacted by an officer and gave him the details and emailed him the photo's. Not sure if I will hear anything back or not but I feel good about reporting it regardless of what the actual cause may be?

i wonder if somebody blew up a dam and either collected and dumped them or if they just floated downstream. beavers are really annoying but its no reason for them to just be killed and dumped. that s too bad. Thank you for the update on fishing though and good luck next time!!
