Hiked to Wallace lake many times and have never fished it. Well today I went to fish it. Shoreline fishing is very limited but if you hike around in the woods you can find some good spots. First cast from the shoreline on a chrome Kastmaster and BAM! FISH ON! what a fighter! Reeled in the beauty in the picture. As I was reeling in I thought to myself "man Iam gonna be here all day catching fish!" wrong. That was the only fish I caught. I fished about an hour and a half. It was all worth while and made the day. Glad I didn't get skunked like many do at this lake. Didn't measure it but Iam guessing around 18 inches in length. Also had a huge jaw with some killer teeth. Great looking fish. The biggest so far Ive seen come out of this lake. I know there are some monsters in here and there all wild. I took the picture and gently released it back into the water. Great day of hiking and spending some quality time at Wallace lake. Will be back!

Looks beautiful out there! I've been to Wallace twice and fished once. Didn't catch any but saw many risers in the middle of the lake just out of casting range. Glad you were able to hook into that beautiful cuttie. Thanks for the report.!

Isn't that quite a feeling when you go into a beautiful scenery/lake/scenario... and you BAM! on your 1st cast.
I totally know what you were feeling, thinking "Dang! this is gonna be lights out fishing!" Then even after a dismal 1.5 hours you still can walk away saying you had a hellu good time. (-:
