I was hoping that Fridays weather would have been good enough to get the bass fired up rnough to get a few, No such luck though. I arrived at the lake at about 1 and the water was up to 47, but for some reason the wind picked up and became sustained huricane force winds. It was blowing from the park across the lake. Even with the trolling motor on high it would blow the nose around. So, with that wrecking my game plan for the day I jumped around fishing as best as I could. About 230 I was fishing along the shore ln between the island and the park and got the only bite of the day. I was using an x-rap in clown color ripping it pretty good paralleling the shore. My buddy met me at 3 and we threw all the usual gear. We fished until 5 and never got anymore bites. I fished shallow about half the time.
Also, when we were on the opposite side of the lake, back in the corner, some guys in a row bow were trying to flag down another guy who was just doing laps in a river boat. They never got his attention, so we went over to them and their battery was dead so we towed them back to launch. Watch your batteries in heavy wind and PLEASE watch other boats just incase they are stranded.
I put that brown in the live well, took it out a couple times to show people and take pictures, and drove it all the way home. It was still lively back at my house. Those fish are tough. The limit is only 2 over 14 inches.
