The day started with a little snow falling in the morning but turned to a light rain by the time we got the boat in the water (10:30). The temperature stayed in the low-to-mid thrities and the rain remained light all day. The friend I brought with me like the comfort of bottom fishing so I never even rigged up for trolling. We bottom fished with orange gulp eggs in several spots (she doesn't have a lot of patience either). We pulled both of our limits of 12"-15" rainbows by 3:00. They were all pretty nice fish with a couple of fatties thrown in for good measure. Kitsap Lake has been on fire for me this Winter. As much as I'm looking forward to the other lakes opening in the Spring, I might miss the "easy" catch I've been having. If you've been missing fishing and can stand a little cold and/or wet I would make sure to get out on Kitsap Lake.
