A buddy and I fished the Lind Coulee Saturday and Sunday targeting perch and hoping for a couple walleye too. Ice was great- 8 to 11 inches. Perch fishing was outstanding-- easy limits of 25 on Swedish pimples tipped with wax worms or perch eyes. We fished from all day Saturday and 7-12 on Sunday. Perch limits came in four hours Saturday and two hours on Sunday. We searched for wallies the rest of the time-- threw everything at them too with no success. We did catch three while perch fishing, but they were no bigger than the perch and released. We caught our perch and the small wallies by the island, on the main channel side. Great trip! The perch were really good sized and the action was fast and fun!

Well worth the work cleaning huh? Are you the guys I asked if you were using a under water camera? It was a digital mar-cum flasher I think.

I am heading over to Spokane over the weekend with the wife and am hoping to try a lil ice fishing. I dont have an auger and am not sure if investing in one will be worth it if I dont really go again. In anyones opinion do you think with a 20 for them other fisherman might do a hole for us to try it?

I would do some holes for free if it was me. probably you could talk someone into it or into using holes they weren't anymore. If you walked around you might find some holes someone had left. Where are you leaving from? if you lived on the olympic peninsula you could borrow mine, Just a hand auger. chances are you don't live close enough but worth a shot. I live in Port Angeles.

I am in renton. Appreciate the offer though. I am hoping to find someone as generous to at least help to get me a hole even if its a used one. Fishing and not catching is still better than not fishing.

Hi Sodberg! Nope, it wasn't us-- wish I had a flasher! Thanks iwilfish! JIYM, I don't even think you'd need to offer $20. I loaned my auger to some folks on Saturday who didn't have one. Also, you can easily use other people's holes when they move or leave, as you suggested. If I am late to the ice on a first day of fishing, and only have 30 minutes or so, I always just poach old holes.
