The first half of the day only produced a couple bites one small Walleye, a lost lrg something and no perch. Went to Soda Lake that was a bust then the Store and them back to Potholes around 2:30 for the rest of the day.

My buddies were sore and fish about 100 yrs from shore near the boat launch as I headed back out around the Island to the deeper water. Got out there and met WL.com member Fowlanguage on the ice and he was using a flasher. Never used one nor never got a good look at one. He caught 5 decent perch and lost a lrg fish also. But then we had an hr of nothing and I decided to call it a day as did he.

Walked back around the Island and my friends were catch decent perch in that shollow water. So fowlanguage and I joined them. We caught several perch eah worth keeping. I used the flasher for a while just to check it out. I am getting one. Defenently help getting the fish to bite.

Warning: the ice was melting fast esp from the top down. The wind created Pothole craters all over the wet ice surface and it was so slick. Also the ice was on the average was 8" although we did find one spot on the north side at 3". Kinda scary. I attatched a pic of the cratered ice and how most people decided not to give it a try.

P.S. We drilled 50+ holes with my ION electric auger and it never slowed down and the battery said it was 2/3 charged.

Yeah I was afraid to spend the money like I did on that auger. I read as many reviews on it before I bought it. I was very suspicious that an electric auger could really be as good as they claim. I wanted one that I did not half to fight with to start, one that did not create a stink (fuel/oil) and I wanted something light. I thought about the jiffy propane auger but that sucker is heavy.

Yeah, I don't like fishing on Sunday either. Always consider it a mistake, mostly due to crowds...
