I hooked up with Mcfisherson13 at 0600 and off to RW we went. Upon crossing the bridge below the dam I could tell there was very little water moving. We headed upriver to start trolling at pump #1. We worked our way all the way up to above pump 3. We tried flies of various colors,Rapalas of various colors homemade spinners as well. We were each running 2 rods. We fished from 0800-1600. Water temp was 41. There was patchy fog with high over cast. About mid-day it tried to spit a little snow. Mark hooked up as soon as we got going but that one didn't make it to the boat. An hour or so later he boated a 5LBS 8oz piggie. We took tuns letting a few go to grow for another day. Then it was dead for quite while. We retuned to the pump #1 and started upriver again. Mark told me I'd had a bump. Sure enough bump, bump, I took the pole out of the holder & on the next bump I stuck it to him. 9LBS. 8OZ. piggie! As soon as that fish was in the net the hooks popped out (thanks Mark for the quick netting as that pig was starting to thrash). We were able to pick up another @ 3LBS. 8OZ. along the can line to round out the day. We were able to stay warm with Mr. Heater in Marks boat. We fished long and hard. fishing was hit and miss. But quality rated it a four. I was able to get this fish smoked yesterday and canned today. I'll be able to send some to Minnesota with my oldest as he returns for(hopefully) his final semester of his senior year @ Macalaster!
Sorry for the late report but, Ive been down with the flu.
