Merry Christmas everyone. Part of the Christmas joy I have is to have a girlfriend who lets me have the freedom to pursue the happiness of fishing on almost all occasions. Today we stayed home and didn't have family over the house because we went on the 24th to her family to exchange the gifts and eat great Christmas dinner.

In any case, I was able to take advantage of the absolutely stunning day we had and fished on Sammamish from 3:00 - Sundown. The fishing was spectacular even though I was only able to fish for an hour and a 1/2. Within that time, I was able to catch and release 7 beautiful shiny cutthroat from 12-21 inches. I don't have pics for this post as the battery was dead to my phone while I was out there. I fished the middle sized Needlefish in darker colors and trolled them about 25 yards behind the boat on a downrigger set at 15 feet at about 1.5-2 mph.

There were lots of seagulls picking the surface on the little chironomid hatch going on and I found if I followed the birds, I would be into fish. There was 1 other lucky fisherman out there trolling around that must either be a bachelor or have a really cool wife or girlfriend to let him take part in the awesome fishing out there on this day.

I'll be out tomorrow too!

Scott
