Fished the south end of Cda Lake yesterday with fellow Wa. Lakes member farmer_aa.
The pike a re still biting, although not quite as ferociously as the past two weekends. We managed 15 pike between the three of us, in a 4 hour trip. Most fish were in the low to mid 20" range but Arron had the big fish of the day at 9.9 pounds and I believe 32". Hopefully he will post a photo of it for us to see. It was kind of an affectionate get together with he and the fish. For some reason Aaron felt a hug was in order. I guess you had to be there.
The fish were in and around the weedbeds and were caught on a mixture of everything we threw at them. Frogs, spoons, swim baits, and the sabille magic swimmer.
Water temps were 40 - 43 if I remember right. If you're not afraid of the weather they can still be caught.
I wouldn't normally rate a day with 15 fish for three fishermen as a 5 but the chance to meet a couple of new fishing friends for a day on the water boosted the rating.
Thanks for the trip Aaron, it was great fishing with you guys.
