Fished the south end of Cda Lake again this past sunday. The fish were not quite as active as last week but they are still there and they are still biting. The kid got 8 and I got 13 for a total of 21 pike on the day. Half were caught on frogs and half on husky kerks and x raps. Fish are not only in the weedlines now. We got half of our fish sitting on the weedlines and throwing out over deeped water. They must be cruising and looking for bait fish. Nothing big again this trip. Brandon got the biggest at 28". Good looking healthy fish and they fought well this time. As you can see by the look on the his face, he was happy that he got the biggest fish. I had to remind him that I out fished him 13 to 8 this weekend and 31 to 11 last weekend.
Water temps were mid 40's and a little murky where we fished.
Most fish were again in the 25" range but we did have a few around 10 pounds roll on the baits and or follow them to the boat without biting.
I'm guessing they can be caught on lures for at least another week, depending on the weather.

Bob, in the report I said I got half the fish on frogs. When I say that, lots of people assume the hollow bodied double hook topwater frogs. I don't use those. I use a Paca Toad Sr. It's a soft plastic frog that looks a lot like a crawdad. I rig it with a weighted 7/0 Eagleclaw Lazer sharp swimbait hook. IT can be fished anywhere from topwater to whatever depth you want depending on the size of the weight. White usually seems to be a favorite of the pike.

I also use a 60-80 lb test flourocarbon leader about 24" long, and 30 lb Power Pro braided line.
