Meant to get out earlier, but hit Beaver Lake about 0800. The lake was dead calm, very little to no wind. I was bank fishing two poles from the west side of the lake across from the boat launch. On one I had a bubblegum gulp floating trout worm with chartreuse power egg. The other I had a power nymph I was floating with a corky. Bottom fished both with a 1oz egg weight and about 10' leader of 4lb test with a number 8 baitholder hook. About an hour and a half later, switched up baits. Used a white and orange sparkle Mouse tail with chartreuse power egg, and then tried bobber floating the smoke/orange power nymph. At about 1020 I left for the Seahawks game, no bites at all. Saw someone on the boat launch reel one in. Two other bank fishermen looked empty handed. Any tips/tricks would be appreciated, I'm just not getting the hang of fishing these rainbows!

About 6 weeks ago after the plant beaver was smoking hot. I was hooking 2 fat rainbows in an hour of fishing, more when I brought my son. It slowed about a month ago, to maybe one fish in 2-3 hours. The last couple weeks though brutal, not even a nibble in 4+ hours. I'm wondering if they are just fished out (the plant was only 1k fish) or if they slow down with the cooler temps. Or maybe a combo of both? I've gone back searching for salmon!

I was out on beaver today. Between my uncle and I we got 5 fish. 3 looked like they were ready to spawn so we threw them back. Yellow power eggs with krill scent and about 4" of leader in 19" of water. Think the fishing from the shore has slowed down. Our fish funded showed a lot of fish in 20 feet plus of water.

I have not had time to get back to any fishin, but I have noticed some great tips from some "Greenlake" posts that may work. Please post or PM me if you find something that works. They are... Shrimp or nightcrawlers worked quite well... I tied up some tiny spawn sacks of about 8-10 single eggs... Power Eggs and shrimp... fish wanted shrimp, fished on the bottom, with no flotation... just flat on the bottom. Once I figured that out, it was "game over". From 2:00 to 3:30, I must have had a dozen hits, and landed four more Rainbows, one 12", one 13" and two more at 15". The fish were biting extremely lightly, many coming off the hook while reeling them in, two fell off the hook in the net.

Happy fishing and Merry Christmas.
