Took dad out on Potholes in an attempt to put some walleye in the boat. Trolled shadraps and flicker shad in various colors. Hooked planer boards to the downrigger cables and ran those 30-40 feet off the side of the boat since I do not have masts set up for the boards, worked OK. Put quick releases on shower curtain hooks and slid down the cable to desired distance off to the side. Trolling speed was 1.2-1.6 MPH, 70 to 100 feet behind the boat.
Landed 8 walleye from 8" to 22", 5 perch, and one catfish. Missed a few and had something on that I could not slow down, probably snagged a carp, at least I feel better telling myself that. Died completely for us in front of the dunes so motored up the Lind Coulee arm a little ways. Rigged up with smile blades and slow death hooks with crawlers. Landed one more walleye, couple perch, and missed quite a few.
Took no pictures so threw on a photo of what happens when the kids are in the backyard without supervision too long. The oldest one is giving the same look my wife had when she walked out there.
