I was looking forward to some early morning cutthroat fishing on Sunday before the Seahawk game so hooked up the Tin Cup at 7am and headed down to Atlantic city launch. As I was coming off the hill I noticed a thick fog bank sitting on the lake and when I arrived at the launch I couldn't see past the docks it was so thick. I thought about waiting it out and I was walking around the boat noticed something wrong with my passenger tire of my boat trailer. My bearing buddy was missing the bearing were exposed and rust and grease were all over the rims! Yikes! I made my may home slowly on the back roads and realized my hopes of fishing Sunday were gone~ spent the day repairing my replacing my wheel bearings for another day. ( plus the Seahawks lost) darn!

So that day came today when I actually got off work by 4pm so made a bee-line to the lake and was motoring across to Mercer island to start my troll. I had some nice herring cured up and was anxious to try out some of them but started with the go-to brad's cut plug stuffed with some pike minnow I had caught earlier this summer and cured up for bait. Started my troll north just past the point across from Seward park and put the wire down at 24 feet; within 5 minutes had a tap tap but was too anxious and pulled it off the clip before he had a chance to get hooked but as I was reeling in it hit again! It gave a few tugs and then came unbuttoned. Put it out again and heard a big splash behind the boat so new the fish were up high so this time set it at 20 feet. Had another tap tap but this time waited and then BAM! Set the hook and it came right out of the water! Not a big one but scrappy and even came out of the water a couple times before getting it in the net. Had a few more takes but that was it but not a bad way to spend the afternoon~ too bad these days are getting shorter as had to head in around 6:30 before it got dark. I don't like the boat launch when I am by myself and it is getting late if you know what I mean! All-in-all a good day for me with a newly bearing-packed trailer and my new 60hp Johnson ran great as I was able to get in with-in 5 minutes after getting my lines up and a fish to boot!

See ya on the water!

Great report! Need to get out on the big lake since I'm done with the sound. Do you know when the fresh cutthroats come in?

nice! since 1 million kings made it over the dam I figured it would be good pickin's over there! Ha ha I call it new and it runs like new! lol
SaNFiShOn- I am no expert but I heard 1200 cutthroats were trapped at Barrier dam on the Cowlitz so I figured they follow the salmon wherever they go so should be the same for Lake WA
