Went to Tapps yesterday morning. Was on the lake at 7 AM. A thick fog covered the lake. Because I have no guidance system in the boat, I fished the pocket in front of the launch until the fog began lifting. My first smallie was my biggest for the day, weighing 3-1. But the fishing was slow all morning. At least it was for me. There were four other bassboats who launched about the time I did. Hopefully they did better. I had no problem finding the fish at the usual depths of 21 to 27 feet. They were schooled up nicely. But for whatever reason they were reluctant to bite. I fished three of my favorite locations, and tried a variety of bottom bouncing lures with little difference in success. Ended up catching 8, and 4 of those were pretty small. Anyway, first really poor day for me on Tapps since early this spring. Loaded the boat about noon.
