Followed directions to the resort. Had stopped by one sunny summer weekend. Place was packed. Quiet now. People are renting the compact cabins including a private flush toilet over the weekends. Bargain rates during the week. Nice selection of gear in the store.
Boat ramp is on opposite shore.Turn off on Waldrick. Public fishing sign is small across the street from te paved entrance that appears to be a resident neighborhood. Its on the left once inside the development. This launch is very steep and narrow. On top is room to position stern first, and parking.
Few high clouds but bright, on the water about two. Small inlet of the launch opens on the right to the deepest hole in this lake. Some heavy equipment noise right above the hole so followed the shore line around. Had the lake to ourselves. No one else on or near the water. Casting out a Irish minnow imitation with worm. Jeanie was using a spinning bee over her hooked cocktail shrimp. Had some half hearted bites along the east side swamp. Believe some carry overs lurking around mouthing our offerings but so delicately not much of a indication up top.
Becky (resort management) offered to show us her cabins once the occupants checked out. Meandered over to her dock and tied up. Looks like the trout crop in the enclosure is about ripe. Not long before this multitude gets released. We plan to enjoy the winter peace and quiet while trying to catch these pen fish's older relations. Maybe staying over will help with our timing.
