Went to this year round lake hoping to avoid some the opening day crowds. There were still quite a few people. Have had some luck in the past here, but my family was skunked this time. Only a couple of bites. Only saw a handful of other fish caught. All I saw caught were caught from shore. All were very nice (estimate 16"+ for all). We trolled from our boat and shore fished. Tried just about everything in my tackle box (Needlefish, Wedding Rings, Flatfish, Rooster Tail, Pop Gear, Worms, Powerbait and combinations thereof) but nothing worked. Two guys I talked to that caught 3 of the 5 fish I saw say they come to the area relatively often and implied they kind of had the locations to fish at figured out. They use nothing but Powerbait and Salmon Eggs and they are very patient. They said they usually limit, but that it may take all day and they may have to hit more than one lake (North Windmill, Heart and Canal Lakes are all very close). They said they were always skunked when they tried Trolling.
