I met RickyDBasser at the Pierce County North launch and we terrorized the SMB for the morning. Between the two of us we caught 52 SMB and only about 5 were dinks. The largest was 3 lbs and we had seven or 8 that went over two pounds. All were caught on soft plastics with the exception of three that were caught on crank baits. The new Strike King 3XD is a killer crankbait on Tapps. For the soft plastics we used a mixture of Grubs and Senkos. All fish were caught in about 16 to 22 ft of water along grass lines near drop offs. It was a very good day of fishing. We left the lake at noon. The boat traffic was getting pretty bad and both of us had things to do for the afternoon.

You forgot to tell them about my Lake Tapps first. I caught a 12 inch catfish on a grub. Surprised the heck out of me. Anyway, it was a great day fish wise, and a great day with my favorite fishing buddy. Thanks Wayne.

I learned most of what I know about Lake Tapps from a guy who was kind enough to invited me to fish with him, a total stranger. If I've said it once, I'll say it a hundred time. Thank you, Wayne Bailey, AKA nx7k, for giving me an invitation to fish in your boat. I will always remember it.
