Decided to hit the lake with the family before heading to the famous stampede. We fished this lake last year from shore and the crawdads were horrible so we decided to bring the boat this year to get a little deeper. The lake is what I would consider a medium size lake perfect for trolling or bank fishing but how they decided to allow ski boats is beside me. For three days it was the same routine get up at 6am on the water till 8 and then all hell would break loose. The boats don't even seem able to make a very long run before having to turn around. There is a small cove on the north west end of the lake where a small creek comes in shallow probably fifteen feet deep, every skier and jet ski decided to circle us and pick up the waves. Needless to say fishing was very slow we trolled at different depths, pop gear, on top, dodger you name it we tried it. We did hit allot of fish in the six inch range but only two keepers. I wouldn't recommend this lake late in the year unless you plan on skiing and perhaps fishing just to dink around.
