8/4/2013 1:24:00 PMLooks like the fish are a little larger in the last month . Thank you for the report.
I awoke with the alarm to a headache. I got up and moved around a bit and went back to bed for a few minutes. Got back up and loaded up. Took a couple of acetaminophen and left for the lake.
I started fishing about 6:30am finished close to 7:30am. I was trying out a new scent that I put together on some corn and it worked! I gave the left over’s to a couple of guys at the launch. Hope they did well. I got a fish right away so I just stayed kind of by the launch area in 47-60 foot of water with the downrigger cable between 26-39 feet. I had 2 doubles one of which I got both in and one that I lost both. I found a new snag that took my Dick Nite Watermelon dodger and the green agitator I was using on my 2nd rod. I posted the coordinates on Facebook if you want to know where it is. I used my cell phone GPS to share the spot, also so I would know where it is later.
Dick Nite Chartreuse Hot Head dodger and the pink agitator caught 4 of the fish. I took the temp of the water at 37 feet down just before I came in and the thermometer said 58.
I forget to say how many pulls back I was for the lure placement from the cable. On the bottom it was 23 pulls back and then stacked 10 foot above was 19 pulls back. It was cloudy with the promise of clearing off.
My headache never really went away but when I was fighting a fish there was no pain. My last fish was in the net and I reached down to unhook it and the trailer hook went into my right forefinger and the fish wouldn’t stop wiggling. It went in deeper, past the barb and I could see the point start to poke through my skin so I gripped the fish pulled it off the top hook and unhooked myself. We were both bleeding by then. When will I learn!
We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.
