Had a great time fishing Blue Lake for 4 days last week. Brought in (C&R) a couple dozen Bass, most in the 9 to 10 inch size range. One was as big as 14" and the smallest was about 6". Also landed a nice 9" Yellow Perch and a little 8" Rainbow.

I think all the trout are down deep due to the warm water temp. Deeper than I was able to go trolling. Saw lots of fish on the finder sitting at the bottom 40+ ft or so where I fished. I think it was just a fluke that I caught the one little Rainbow right at the surface? Didn't see anyone catching Trout in this weather. The smallmouth were a blast though, really aggressive taking just about anything you threw at them.

are the bass still in the shallow rocky flats? Or are they deeper? Last year they went to deeper water in mid july. I think this season its a little late since we had a cooler spring here in the coulee area.

I was getting the most hookups right on the edge of the rocky shelf around the perimeter of the lake. Not so much in the shallows and not so much in the deep, just right on the edge of the drop off.
