Up at 2 am, on the water before sunrise, rods down when the bite should be good. I thought I'd give Baker a chance to see if I wanted to spend my vacation up there this weekend. Nope. I don't want to.
A bunch of bored people driving in circles is what it was. I did hear a rumor about some guy that heard that some guy had hooked a fish.
I trolled Noisy Creek up and down, a few times, for a few hours, then cut across to fish the road side. At around 9:15 or so, I'm sitting there, dog in my lap and sorta out of it, looking ahead, two boats coming at me, better veer a bit to the port side, I look back at my rod, it popped and was bouncing. So I wake up real quick get the rod out of the holder best I can, and try to reel down on the fish. Too late, of course, a fish, followed by a flasher jumps 3 feet out the water 10 feet from the boat and spits the hook.
Yea, that was it. As far as I know, I was the only one who even touched a fish in the 7 hours I trolled around out there. I'm not coming back until the lake gets a massive push of fish, or the bite changes dramatically. It's not worth it.
