Took the boy out to tapps this morning. Arrived at gate open and had it in mind I would NOT fish the shallows which I'm soooo comfortable with. Started out at a rocky point that drops from 3ft down to 30ft very quickly. Pulled Carolina rig and hit 2 smallies here. Moved over to a different point in about 14ft and caught 1 more. The bites were VERY lite. And short. Moved over to tapps island in about 12-20 ft and caught a couple smaller ones. My boy had a decent musky follow his jig to the boat and was quick on a hook set and it didn't stick. He was bummed but stoked to see that happen! We found a blue rope just under the surface and grabbed on and pulled as hard as we could but what was down there wouldn't budge. That was weird? By this time it was a little after 11am and the boats were beginning to bug the hell out of me so we fished a little longer then headed out. All in all, I was finally able to find some deeper fish successfully. Smallest went a pound and biggest probably close to 3.
