The trip to Clear Lake this morning had me using my wiper blades. It was just as foggy and wet on the lake when I launched close to 6am. I quit short of my limit at 9:30am.
I had to use my GPS compass phone app to keep track on where I was going. In the blankness of the fog it was easy to lose track of where I was. The water temperature was 62 degrees at 25 feet.
My foggy bites, were on Dick Nite’s Pink Splatter dodger and Wannafish A Lure’s Pink Splatter. The fish came at between 60-80 feet of water 30 feet down on the cable. I would get bites as I went from the 70 to 80 foot area. I got 2 in before the fog lifted off the lake. Then the bites died so I switched gear and went deeper. I also dropped the cable down 5 – 10 feet. I got several fish to the boat but not in. I came to the conclusion that if I see the fish with its mouth open I won’t get it in the boat.
I got 2 more into the boat but released one that was 8 inches. I used Dick Nite’s 50/50 and a well used Glided Lily. There was corn on one hook. While the bite wasn’t red hot it was consistent. It was a good day.
