Angle fished kind of slow but it was worth it for the quality of the fish. My buddy and I went 7/13, 1-15”, 5-14” and 1-13” all chunky and probably around a pound. We saw a couple that we lost and they were good sized too. These are really fun but nerve racking fish, they fought hard and went airborne, tail walked, would run at the boat then under it to the opposite side around the prop, the relief when we’d get one in the net! Good times! It cost us fish but it was fun fighting them in!
We were on the water from 8:30-4:30. From 11:30ish to 1:30ish we tried to find perch but found rockbass after rockbass instead so went back to trolling. We were fishing about 20’ down in 40-45’ of water, most hookups came on the south shore near the bend. DN dodgers and a pink mini-hoochie with no blade or spinner baited with corn and pink maggot hooked all the fish. Beautiful weather and great day on water! Tight lines all!
