My wife and I decided to go fish after church for a couple of hours before turning the North River over to Jeff for an evening trip. My visiting grandson was willing to get out of bed by noon to go with us. So we had a 2 hour window... I wanted to try some spots in Manson Bay to see if the fish would bite there in the middle of the day. We ran a couple of Ace Hi Flies baited with a piece of Northern Pike Minnow at 1.3 mph within 5 feet of the bottom in depths of 150 to 255 feet. Launching at the crack of noon was a bit unusual for me, but we managed to get it done. Grandson Chandler was a quick study on how to manipulate the downriggers to keep our lures working close to the bottom. Sandy & Chandler netted most of the fish. It was a great time! We hit our spots real nice a boated a number of fish within about 2 hours of launching. Tied up and drove the car home. Wind came up just in time to greet Jeff for his evening trip.
