Took some time off work this week, and have been trying to get out there as much as I can. The bite has finally started picking back up on the lake.
Started out around 7:30am, and headed south from Idylwood Park. Picked up a handful of 1lb smallies on drop shot around some docks. Each one fought like they were twice the size. Such a blast, but I need to start leaning less on the ds, be more patient, and start throwing bigger baits. Plus the perch have exploded, and pick at the worms.
Headed down even further south to try some unfamiliar shoreline around noon, and picked up a nice one at 2lbs, 4 ounces. Not a monster, but getting better. By just past 1pm, the heat had really kicked in, and I could feel the top of my head getting cooked by the sun, and had to call it a day.
Picture attached, as well as a quick video of the release.
Tight lines!
