This report covers three different trips over two days of fishing. We started at just after 4:00am Saturday morning. First boat on the lake. It was the maiden voyage for my buddies fishing boat, and all in all it worked flawlessly. We fished at various depths to begin with but found the majority of our success between 40 and 50 ft deep in various locations. most of the fish we caught were along the eastern shore. Saturday morning we fished until about 10:00am. By that time the wind had picked up and the ski boats were out in force. We netted 5 and lost two at the surface. Reds and pinks seemed to be the magic color for the weekend. We were back out by 5pm Saturday and fished through the "rough" waters created by the ski boats. We netted two more average sized keepers after a couple hours and then nothing from 7-10pm.
Sunday morning went better. We found a hot spot after about an hour on the water and netted two right there. One was the largest of the weekend which was caught on a silver uv dodger and a silver w/ chartreuse tip dick nite. That setup was useless after that. Netted a total of five fish Sunday morning and called it for the weekend

Forgot to mention, My buddy managed to pull up what looked like a rainbow trout. I have heard of people catching cutts at Samish but never rainbow. We also managed to avoid the peamouth surprisingly, however we never ran a surface line either.
