Ive lived across the street from Beverly lake since last fall, and Havnt fished it until now, because I wanted to make sure whatever fish might love there would be active (warm water temp) I got permission to pass through an apartment complex to get to the lake so long as I'm respectful to the tenants and etc. so 8:00 I arrive there blow up the raft and start paddling to the island(nearby) I started off using an f5 Rapala (silver with a bloody face). First hit was a smash of a hit, I thought for sure it was a nice bass, to my surprise it was a seriously fat bluegill, next cast another one just like it. They were holding in 8ft of water, after a half hour or so with relatively consistent bluegill action I finally got a bass, and it wasn't a monster, but my first for the year,.so I was pleased. I also caught pumpkinseed ( it didn't appear that the bluegill and the pumpkinseed were cross breeding) I also caught very very small perch, 3 to 5 inches... They also bit the f5 rapala, i did hook into one monster of a bass, probably 4 or 5 pounds but he spit the hook on his first jump out of the water, a fun trip all in all...

Great report, jonb! Since I moved to Everett 12 years ago, I've always thought that little lake looked bassy and wondered if there was any public access to it as my canoe would work great on it. Thanks for answering both questions. Gotta love a bluegill that will smash an F5 Rapala!
