My buddy tried Devereaux for the first time last week, he and his kids limited out on 15 trout in about an hour and a half. So we went out this morning just him and I.
From the boat launch we scooted on over to a grassy point that separates the north shore in half. At first we stayed just off that northern point but we saw more fish to the south so we finally sat about 30 yds from the southern bank. We did pretty well, the bite started around 9 and limited out by 11 on rainbow power bait. Most were fairly small and those that were dinks and didn't swallow the hook we threw back.
So we then switched gears and tried to catch some bass while also dragging a gulp night crawler on the bottom hoping for a perch. We did see about a half dozen adult LMB, but we couldn't get them to accept our offering on anything.
I think the next time we go our plan will be to target the bass from early till 9 and then try and catch some trout after 9.
To those of you that haven't been here before this lake doesn't allow gas engines. We used an electric trolling motor to get everywhere, it's big enough that it doesn't seem crowded but small enough to not take too long to get from one end to the other.
